Who we are
The Institute Of Dance is a brand new dance school opening very soon in the area of Cranbrook, Kent. We are so excited to bring classes and workshops celebrating the joy of moving!
Principal/Owner: Amie Flynn
Amie started dancing at a young age and grew up performing with English Youth Ballet in Coppelia, Ballet Etudes and The Nutcracker. She trained at Rambert School as part of the Pre Vocational Course in which provided performance opportunities with Richard Alstons Final Tour, collaborations with the Royal Academy of Music and showcases. She also had the opportunity to train in New York taking workshops from Alvin Ailey and Martha Graham studios.
She then studied dance performance BA Hons at the University of Chichester and toured the UK as part of 3Fall Dance Company. Aside from University, Amie was mentored by Sarah Stanley at Danceworks London. Since graduating, Amie performed at Resolutions Festival at The Place London, has performed and trained in Munich reworking Fractus V by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui with Patrick Williams and danced in JV2 by Jasmin Vardimon. As a company member of JV2 she toured their Triple Bill performance.
Amie has taught a wide range of workshops and classes as well as dancing with This Is Us Inclusive Dance Company.
